the color

Man, you make your words work overtime! Red becomes read, drawing out a note posted on the door, but also making the ink red and the door red. Blood red, blood read. Someone is PISSED at someone. But I also can’t help but see this as being about an in-the-dark gay couple, one of whom has gotten fed up with the other keeping him/her a secret. So guess what! I just told everyone; now we’re out, baby. 🙂
I like that secret “cooler” you hid in “color.” Other than the regular meaning, “the cooler” is also prison … or a penalty box in ice hockey, apparently. A cooler is also like a bouncer, right? So I think one of the guys in this partnership is a ginormous bouncer … who also likes plums. 🙂
flower girl sees way more than I do…I need to expand my thinking! 🙂 Anyway, you pack a lot into these few words and I love that P.S.
Me too, but what fun to delve behind the words!
It does sound like fun! :~)
This does remind me of Williams…a take off on the Plum poem (I think it was his, wasn’t it?)
Yes. 🙂
I love it. No more plums…..ooooooh baby! I’ve had that poem on my refrigerator door for years. Last summer, I think my husband had seen it enough. He crossed through it and scribbled, but there is a pineapple xx00 This is super.
Oh yes – so great when you bring in Carlos Williams … I could almost see a sticker saying:
No plums – CWC was here.
Exxxxcellent!
Oh De, this is brilliant ❤
Cheeky!
Brilliant!
William Carlos Williams would have a smile over this one!
Don’t you just hate it when you run out of plums?
You nailed the brief with this.
brilliant…
A few strong, concrete words. You found the essence.
Perfect, you clever lady.
This made me laugh out loud!
Enjoyed the reference to WCW’s poem. This one packs a punch, for sure!
Wow, who knew so much went on on a fridge door? I got a kick out of this one.

love the opposite way of picturing red – cold fridge/disappointment
a terse verse that speaks volumes
