Shall we
bubble ourselves
slight sane?
Effervesce this cold
sky into something
that makes sense,
fence ourselves
in with balloon moon,
crackled stars?
Blow me true
north, Love. This breeze
is begging for a new
toast, a quiet boasting
bliss,
the humblebrag
of tears.
..
It’s time for the Quadrille over at dVerse, and I’m bartending. 🙂 Come on over and give us 44 words, inducing some semblance of the word “bubble.”
Ha, some days bubbling oneself sane would be quite a trick….but floating on such a breeze would be a beautiful treat!
Amen, Mary. I wish it were that light and easy.
A bubbly de- light! Floating away in a fresh breeze. Bliss 🙂
Thank you, Shirley. 🙂
I love it… this is just so delightful… still tinged with some sadness, maybe bubble bursting too.. The fence of crackled stars if moons sounds like a gilded cage… don’t we all want that.
Well, now I TOTALLY want a “fence of crackled stars,” for sure. 🙂
I would LOVE to bubble myself sane!
Me too.
I love all the aspects of bubble that you used, De. Beautiful and charming…loved your “fence ourselves in with balloon moon, crackled stars.”
Thanks, Gayle. I am obsessed with the sky. I can’t seem to keep it out of my words, even when the whole thing is about something else entirely. 😉
Wonderful mixture and pairing of words, De. Love this.
Thanks, Misk. 🙂
Something so bubbly about the way you write, loved this one.
Thank you so much. Yours was a bubbly delight, as well, complete with gorgeous photo!
I love that you set this up as if it’s about a pool game (cue). Or a play. “And … cue music.”
So much love for “S light sane.” 🙂
I love those cold and flu Alka-Seltzer tabs. They’re gross, but they work SO well.
“sky into something” … I would LOVE to. “Sky” is a lovely verb.
I fence myself every flipping day; I’m so sick of it.
Love: “balloon moon, crackled stars”
“Blow me true” … Ha.
“north-love (verb) this breeze”
“a quiet boasting” … beautiful phrase
I am big-time loving the word “humblebrag.”
Ohhhhh. Sky as verb. Yes, please. Pretty please? Poem, please?
I knew you’d have a blast with “blow me.” 😉
Such fun word and image choices in this. I feel like writing a poem using humblebrag. It is so oxymoronic and just feels good on the tongue!
Right? I love that new word, so much. If you do a poem, be sure to link back for me to see! 😉
You got it!
I so love the word bubble here…
& those ending lines made me sigh ~ Here’s a toast to all the mad crazy love ~
Sighing with you, Grace. 😉
Great idea, I wish I could bubble out at times. Calgon take me away
I am totally old enough to know this reference. 😉
Bubbling ourselves sounds like all sorts of fun… especially when all that flying, toasting and boasting is involved.
Thank you, Magaly. 😉 All it needs now is a little Poe. And a silly hat. 😉 I loved yours.
I love “crackled stars”—it’s such fresh imagery 🙂
Thank you. I like it when words just sort of pop out together, and demand to be a couple. 😉
Such a fun loving poem! I’m thinking they’re in a hot air balloon, and the wind is blowing them around while they’re drinking champagne! 🙂 I want to take that ride!
Ooooo. That sounds like fun! Although just the bubbly alone would probably make me dizzy…perhaps a hot air balloon ride, OR bubbly. Not both. 😉
I love these words, De. Humblebrag being the best!
Thank you, Sara. I can’t claim that one. I’ve heard it, quite a few times now. I’m not sure it’s been mashed into one word, necessarily, like that, but that’s how I roll. 😉
Keep truckin’
Fun and whimsical.
I love “bubble” as a verb. So cool. 🙂
I love “bubble” in ALL its effervescent forms. 🙂 Thank you.
i love to see the pictures your words bring…delightful…
Thank you, Sumana. I love when it works both ways…words worth a thousand pictures. 😉
Your poem is like a piece of abstract art – I love it!
I love this comment, Kim. Thank you!
It is true and you are more than welcome 😊
ThIs is bubble-icious! Some days I’d love to bubble myself sane! 🙂 Maybe by corking the bottle or by blowing in that little ring. Some days maybe call for both! 😊
Bubble baths work, too. 😉
Oooooh yes!
This breeze
is begging for a new
toast, a quiet boasting
bliss,
Let the breeze go to do its own thing. It serves its purpose in its natural surroundings!
Hank
YES. I am a big fan of the breeze. I listen, often.
First you’re over here…
Then you’re over there…
You bubble and effervesce all over de place!
Quite nicely, I might add.
Awwww. Thank you, Sir. Your poetic presence makes me happy.
Bubbling myself sane might be interesting…as long as no bursts that bubble…
Oh, gorgeous! No-one smiths the words like you.
Bubble liGhts

Blow hard
